The Holy Icons of Mother Russia exhibition at the Knights of Columbus Museum displayed 84 pieces of sacred art that were secreted out of Russia during the Communist era. Spagnola & Associates’ approach to the exhibit design was to be modern and up to date while keeping a historic feel. All of the Icons, which are called Windows into Heaven, were hung on one wall, the way they would have been displayed in Russian churches and homes. Grouped by subject matter, the images worked together creating tremendous visual impact. The detailed accompanying text was separated from yet positioned next to the artifacts on a glass wall placed directly in front of the display. Spagnola & Associates handled and laid out all the precious objects, which dated from 1650 – 1918.
